Due to the effect of COVID-19, the entire schedule of cricket boards and ICC should be rescheduled. In the last three months, all the international fixtures are canceled, Test Championship is postponed and the IPL is postponed. Australian Selector Greg Chappell and Australia commentators Michael Hussey and Brad Hodge suggested what if two formats are played on a single day? They also took the squads for T20 and Test Matches among the Active players.
They went on a discussion as this situation already happened in Australia back in 2017 where the Test team was in India and the T20 side in Sri Lanka.
Australia has very fewer players who play all the formats such as David Warner, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc. And they have a lot of options to pick from BBL such as Daniel Sams, Cameron Green, Moises Henriques, Billy Stanlake, etc.
Australia is going to play T20 and Test Matches with West Indies. Playing two formats in a single day may cause damage to the West Indies as they already announced squads for T20 and Test squads. It is also difficult for the coach to manage both teams. Probably it would be better to have different coaches.
T20: Lendl Simmons, Chris Gayle, Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetymer, Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Sheldon Cotrell, Sunil Narine, Oshane Thomas
Test: Kraigg Brathwaite, John Campbell, Shai Hope, Darren Bravo, Roston Chase, Jason Holder(C), Shane Dowrich, Shamarh Brooks, Kemar Roach, Rahkeem Cornwall, Shannon Gabriel
Let's dive into the squads picked by Greg Chappell:
Greg Chappell didn't make many changes to the current Australian test squad. He picked Cameron Green over Travis Head. He said Warner and smith could fit into both squads easily. Cameron Green is the next superstar in Australian Cricket. A 6'7 feet cricketer proved his worth in first-class cricket and he is ready to play with Smith, Warner, and Labuschagne. He reckons Green should start his career at No.6 and soon No.4 should be his long-term position.
Coming to the T20 side, most of the players are inexperienced except Maxwell and Zampa.
Michael Hussey:
It's very strange to leave out David Warner from the Test squad. He said it's a tough choice to left David Warner and picking Usman Khawaja. He also scored Triple Hundred(335*) last year. He also picked James Pattinson over Mitchell Starc as he feels Starc should better fit in white-ball cricket because of the ability to bowl with the new ball and at death in T20. Except for Warner and Starc remaining squad remains the same.
Coming to T20 Side, leading white-ball with Warner and Finch is a great choice. He also picked Behrendroff who is recovering from injury.

Brad Hodge:
He has picked Marcus Harris who lost his spot to Joe Burns last year. He also gave a chance to Nic Maddinson as stated he has scored a pile of runs in the last two years in the Shield Cricket and deserves a chance. The interesting part of Brad Hodge XII's in the T20 side. It's looking like the best XII squad of BBL-09. Marcus Stoinis is the highest scorer of the season and Daniel Sams who is the highest wicket-taker of the season. He also picked Chris Lynn, Marcus Stoinis, and Moises Henriques who are working hard to come back from years.
I think Henriques and Stoinis should deserve a chance to play in the Australian T20 Side and they are great all-rounders of the game.
This case of playing two formats on the same day is nice in the case of Australia. But there are many other teams who depend on players playing all formats. Consider India Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah plays every format for India.
