Toss Update: CSK won the toss and choose to field first

Yasaswi Jaiswal, David Miller, Tom Curran, Rahul Tewatia made their debut for Rajasthan Royals.

Ruturaj Gaikwad made his debut for CSK and IPL.

A lot of expectations on Jaiswal but he failed to make his mark, but he is a very good player, and expecting a lot from him in upcoming matches. Sanju Samson who came at No.3 played a gem of innings. After a decent powerplay, Smith, and Samson made a 121 run stand.

CSK bowlers have a very bad day. They have gone for a lot of runs. Piyush Chawla went for 47 in his first two overs. Samson made his 50 in just 19 balls, the fastest 50 after Buttler(18 balls). Steven Smith on the other end, providing great support to all batsmen. Sanju Samson scored 74(32) in which knock includes 9 sixes and 1 four.

Fastest 50's for RR:

18 balls               Jos Buttler vs DC, 2018

19 balls               Sanju Samson vs CSK, 2020

19 balls               Owais Shah vs RCB, 2012

Stat: Sanju Samson is the only batsman to hit 9+ sixes twice in an innings

10 sixes in 2018 vs RCB

9 sixes in 2020 vs CSK

After the innings of Samson,

 Any debates? Comment

After the dismissal of Samson, the RR run-rate went down to 8 and Smith is the only batsmen keeps going. There was complete carnage in the last over of the match. Ndigi bowled the final over to Jofra Archer and

20th Over: 6,6,6+NB,6+NB,WD, 0,1,1,1

30 runs of final over and Archer hit 4 sixes. Obviously, this the best of Archer we have seen in Batting.

RR: 216-7 (20 Overs)

Sanju Samson      -     74(32)

Steven Smith       -      69(47)

-----------------------------------

Sam Curran           4-0-33-3

Deepak Chahar     4-0-31-1

It's a great display of batting from the Rajasthan Royals. Speaking frank, CSK bowling below par in the match. Both Jadeja and Chawla go full, poor death bowling by Ndigi.

I Hope, they should come back.

Chasing 217 in a slow pitch is very difficult.

Murali Vijay and Shane Watson opening the innings for CSK. After a  decent start, Watson's quick cameo in T Curran over helped CSK to score 53 in the powerplay.

Soon after the powerplay, Watson bowled by Tewatia getting an inside edge by playing a pull shot. Once again, M Vijay failed. Surprisingly, Sam Curran came at No.4 and scored 17(5) striking at 340. Rahul Tewatia provided the breakthrough of Curran and Ruturaj in successive deliveries.

It's getting tough for CSK after the over where Faf and Jadhav trying to rotate the strike and they find it difficult to time the ball in middle overs.

The equation was 102 required from 6 overs. It's tough but Faf du Plessis gave a tough fight and he scored 7 sixes and 1 four in the chase ended up scoring 72 from 37 balls. After the Faf wicket, CSK was 179-6 and they need 38 from 7 balls.

Finally, RR win by 16 runs.

CSK: 200-6 (20 Overs)

Faf Du Plessis      -     72(37)

Shane Watson      -      33(21)

-----------------------------------

Rahul Tewatia       4-0-37-3

Jofra Archer          4-0-26-1

The match won by RR, but the Dhoni show in the final over is a treat to all MSD fans. He came to 14th over and finds it difficult to time the ball properly. In the final over, he changed his bat and smashed three consecutive sixes of Tom Curran's over one of which goes out of the stadium and landed on Sharjah roads.

Dhoni.....Dhoni.

You should appreciate the efforts of RR in the game. Sanju Samson was impressive with his batting and Wicket-Keeping skills. He was awarded Man of the Match.
