Get ready for some Cricketing action. within less than two weeks, International Cricket is all set to resume on 8th July.


The first International match after Lockdown is held at Southampton on 8th July. England and West Indies are all set for the three-match test series.

Schedule:

08-12 July-2020: 1st Test, Southampton
16-20 July-2020: 2nd Test, Manchester
24-28 July-2020: 3rd Test, Manchester

West Indies sent a strong 25-man squad led by Jason Hoder for test series in England. They will train and play in a bio-secure environment with strict rules to ensure the safety of the players. All the players and support staff are tested negative in tests. Again they need to be tested prior to the test matches.


Players after completing a 14 day isolation period, they all set to play a practice match in Manchester dividing into WI Brathwaite XI and WI Holder XI.

The question is does West Indies pace attack can trouble England?

Both the teams are familiar with Duke balls which stands out for swinging all day long. Can this time WI show their impact in England pitches?


West Indies on their previous tour to England in 2017 lost to England by 2-1. In 2017, the West Indies pace attack wasn't impressive. All the bowlers have an average of 30+.

But now, West Indies' pace attack is completely different from 2017. They included Raymon Riefer, Chemar Holder, Oshane Thomas, Alzarri Joseph in their 25 member squad. All these players have impressive records in First Class Cricket.

Having Bowling action similar to Jofra Archer, Chemar Holder is regarded as the future of Windies Cricket. Holder has taken 76 wickets in 19 FC games with an impressive average of 24.23. Recently, Windies Cricket released a video compilation of wickets taken by C Holder.

Another bowler to talk about is Raymon Riefer, He has 175 wickets in 77 FC games with an impressive average of 25.29 and scored 2885 runs, and scored 14 HC and 1C. He has taken 5-fer in practice match (60-5).

Alzarri Joseph who played only one test in the 2017 tour having figures of 109-0, but now he is one of the core members of the WI pace attack. He impressed with the figures of 60-4 and 17-2 in the practice match.

West Indies has an impressive record in Bowling since 2017. Gabriel, Roach, and Holder have taken 163 wickets combined.

Roach and Holder have an impressive average of  20.82 and 15.85. West Indies bowlers since 2017.

To be able to stand on England pitches, the batting should be the better. West Indies have the likes of 
K Brathwaite, J Campbell, Shai Hope, S Ambris. 

Shai Hope was the highest run-scorer in the previous series with 375 runs and also scored centuries in both innings in Headingly.

England has one of the best bowling attacks in Test Cricket with the likes of James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Ben Stokes, and Jofra Archer.

According to the reports, Surrey club planning to open the roof terrace bar and allow 450 visitors to watch the test match by maintaining social distancing.
